Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Private Visa in person, the applicant must visit the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) office-Contact link
2. The Applicant has to approach the Ghana Immigration Service centre and the applicant can get their application form.
3. Fill out the application form and other relevant documents and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
4. Applicants are strongly advised to read the attached privacy policy and to complete and sign the Consent Form. Prior to submitting the applicant application at the Ghana Embassy in applicants home country.
5. If a completed and signed consent form is not included with the application, applicant’s application will be rejected, and will be obligated to be returned to the applicant.
6. A fee has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
7. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents to the GIS office.
8. After send the applicant’s application, it will be reviewed at the visa office to make sure it has been completed correctly and that it contains all the required documents.
9. A visa officer will decide if an interview with the applicant is necessary. If an interview is required, the applicant will be notified of the time and place
10. If the applicant’s application is refused, the applicant’s passport and other documents will be returned to the applicant. (Applicant will also receive an explanation why the applicant’s application was refused and if the applicant sent fraudulent documents, they will not be returned).
11. If the applicant’s application is approved, his/her passport and documents will be returned to the applicant with him/her visa.
12. Private visas are processed within 30 working days of submission of applications.

The following documents are to be attached to the visa application letter;

• Passport with 6 month validity.
• Photo copy of passport.
• Proof of residential address.
• Copy of application filled form.
• Payment receipt
• Police Character/ Clearance Certificate of any Criminal Records
• Vaccination Certificate against Yellow Fever
• A visa cover letter
• An invitation letter
• A recent colored passport size photo with white background.
