Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for applying for an ordinary passport is available in the Immigration Services Department contact link
2. Applicant must provide all necessary information in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry all documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. Applicant must carry both photocopies and originals of these necessary documents.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
6. Fee for this procedure is 130,000 TZS.
7. The immigration officer will verify all documents provided by the applicant and proceed with the processing of the application.
8. After this procedure is done, the applicant will be requested to cooperate with collecting their biometric data for processing e-passport.
9. After collecting all necessary data from the applicant, a transcript will be issued to the applicant, which has the date for collecting the passport.
10. Applicant can visit the office at the date mentioned in the transcript and get their passport.

NOTE: Applicants can visit any immigration department office in their region to get the application form.

Apply Online

1. Application form for ordinary passport is available in the following application link
2. Applicant has to click on the “Application Type” and click on the “New Request” for new passport request.
3. Applicant has to provide their “Phone Number”, “Location” and “Location/Office where the request will be dealt with”.
4. Finally, the applicant has to click on the “Start Request” button to proceed with the application.
5. Once the process is done, the online application form will be opened for getting a new passport.
6. Applicant has to provide necessary information in the application form.
7. Applicant must upload digital copies of documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
8. After completing the application form, applicant has to click on the “Submit” button for submitting their application.
9. Fee for this procedure can be paid online.
10. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, they will be provided with an Application Number and a Reference ID.
11. Applicant can check the status of their application online using their Reference ID.
12. Applicant will be notified regarding their passport once the application is verified and approved successfully by concerned authorities.
13. Applicant can get their e-passport online, the original passport will be sent via mail or the applicant can receive it by visiting the office.

• Passport size photographs – 5 (recently taken).
