Apply In-Person:
- Every domestic worker within one month of the commencement of the employment as a domestic worker in the household shall approach the workers facilitation centres (WFC) authorized by the district board. The worker's facilitation centres (WFC) are i) local panchayati raj institutions (PRI) or urban local bodies, ii) resident welfare associations/society and iii) non-profit organizations.

- The applicant shall approach the respective office and meet the concerned domestic workers welfare board authority or the designated authority.
- The applicant shall get the advice from the concerned authority to be followed to get registered.
- Collect the application form from the concerned authority or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.

- Complete the application form. Attach all the required documents as per our “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it along with the required registration fee as advised and as per acceptable norms.
- On receipt of the application, authorities will check the submitted application and documents. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using the computer.
- An acknowledgement receipt will be issued for the submission of the application. The same will be sent as “SMS” to the registered mobile number. Please save it for future reference.
- This application will be processed further.
- Applicant will get update about the progress of his/her application through “SMS” in their registered mobile number. Applicants are advised to follow the department’s guidelines to get registered.
- Once the authorities check application and documents, this application set will be forwarded to the concerned authority for verification.
- The village administrative officer or the concerned authority will do their due diligence about the applicant and the submitted documents. These authorities will also inspect the premises, where the applicant is employed.
- Once the above said steps are completed successfully, the authorities will submit their verification certificate along with certificate of employment to their respective issuing authority.
- The issuing authority will take a decision based on the above said report and through other internal processing.
- If convinced, the issuing authority will grant the registration.
- The status, viz. Approval or rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or as per applicable norms.
- The department will issue an identity card with proper authentication to the applicant. The identity card, shall be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or delivered as per applicable norms.
- Note:
- Domestic workers board will hold regular camps for registration. All the domestic workers are requested to go to the board with registration fee of Rs.30 (or the advised amount) along with the annual fee of Rs. 60/- (or the advised amount) and give your application number and get yourself registered with biometric system devices and collect the smart card/identity card from the domestic workers board after a week or as per the advised period and become a beneficiary.

- Applicant photo (3 passport size photographs of the domestic worker)

Eligibility
- Every domestic worker whoare above eighteen years of age, but are below completed sixty years of age, is eligible to apply.
- A domestic worker who areengaged in any domestic work is eligible for registration.
- If an employer engages a domestic worker on a full-time basis, then the employer is eligible to apply for registration.
- If, the domestic worker is engaged through an agency or middleman or service provider, then the agency or middleman or the service provider is eligible to apply.
Fees
- A registration fee of Rs.30 or the advised amount along with the annual fee of Rs. 60/- (Rs.5 per month for twelve months) / the advised amount to be paid by challan/demand draft/postal order/cash as appropriate.
Validity
- This registration is valid for a year or as per the timeline notified on the licence.

Instructions
- Contribution by the beneficiaries – a registered domestic worker shall pay a contribution of Rs. 5/- (or the advised amount) per month to the Board with which he/she is registered.
- Where a domestic worker leaves the work in a district and moves to any other area in any part of the territory of India and takes up work in any household in such part either on his/her own or through any agency or middleman, it shall be the duty of such worker or agency or middleman, to inform the concerned board where so registered regarding the move and register with the board at the new place where work has been taken up.
- No child shall be employed as a domestic worker or for any such incidental or ancillary work which is prohibited under any law.
- Any false declaration/certification will entail legal action.
- Incomplete application will be rejected.
- Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.

Need for the Document
- The domestic workers registering under unorganized workers facilitate their access to rights and benefits.
- This registration helps in protection of domestic workers from abuse and exploitation.
- The domestic workers sector skills council has been established under ministry of skills development to enable professionalization of domestic workers and enable their career progression.
- This registration does not apply to such domestic workers emigrating for employment to any other country.
