Tamil Nadu - Apply for Sanitation Certificate


Procedure

Apply Online

  1. To apply for Sanitation certificate, the applicant has to use the following link
  2. In online service applicant has to click the “Sanitation Certificate” option.
  3. From the redirect page, applicant has to enter the username and password. Then click “login” button.
  4. If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click the “Not Registered” button.
  5. The applicant has to enter all the details for the registration process.
  6. After completing the details click the “Sign Up” button.
  7. The applicant will receive the username and password by the registered email ID.
  8. Now the applicant has to log in with the username and password and click the “Login” button.
  9. Enter all the details in the application form.
  10. And upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  11. Pay the prescribed amount fee in online mode as per the portal.
  12. Once completed with all the details click the “Submit” button.
  13. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  14. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  15. The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
  16. Once the process is completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  17. For further process, the applicant has to follow the instructions given by the officer.
  18. If approved, the certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.
  19. This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.



Apply In-Person:

  1. Sanitation certificate will be issued by the public health department of the civic body.
  2. In order to apply for Sanitation Certificate, the applicant has to approach their respective Municipal Corporation / Municipality / Circle office as appropriate and meet the health branch #authority link
  3. Go to the respective office.
  4. Meet the respective authority at the office. The applicant shall get the advice from the authority to be followed to apply for this certificate.
  5. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
  6. Complete the application form. Attach the entire required document as per our “Required Documents” section and submit it to the designated receiving authority.
  7. After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place the application will be accepted with applicable fees as appropriate.
  8. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using computer. #Acknowledgement receipt will be given against every form received. So, collect it and please keep it safe for future reference.
  9. Applicant will get update about the progress of his /her application through SMS in their registered mobile number.
  10. Designated authority will forward the application to the concerned health inspector, Civic authority and area health officer / designated authority for inspection.
  11. The health inspector, Civic authority and area health officer / designated authority will verify the applicant’s details followed by field verification to create a report.
  12. This report will be sent back to the issuing authority.
  13. Based on the outcome of the above report and other internal processing the issuing authority will make a decision.
  14. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
  15. If approved, the certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.

Note:

  • The outcome of the inspection by the authorities will certify about the drinking water facility and hygiene sanitation condition in the premises is par with the norms prescribed by the state government.
  • Every unit should have toilets and clean drinking water facility.
  • Certificate will be despatched or handed over directly as per the request made while applying by the applicant. Mostly handover in office will be in practice to get counter signature from the applicant for the delivered certificate.

  • Applicant should be citizen of India.
  • Applying firm or enterprise must be a registered organization.
  • Commercial establishments such as Doctor’s Clinics, Hotels, Restaurants and other related commercial establishments are eligible to apply.
  • Schools and Educational institutions are eligible to apply.

Validity

  • Valid for 1 year from the date of issuance.

  • In this pandemic time it is advisable to abide the rules and regulations set by the government.
  • Please maintain high standards of hygiene.
  • Please follow the guidelines fixed by your state for size of the premises and zones meant for starting these establishments for which the certificate is required.
  • There will be a sudden check by the civic agencies.
  • Do not submit fake documents as a proof to obtain this certificate.
  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
  • In the event of any information provided by the applicant while applying for this certificate is being found false or incorrect or ineligible before or after the issue of this certificate, then the certificate is liable to be cancelled and the applicant shall be liable to such further action as may be provided under the law.
