For those who are registered:

• Visit the concerned authority.
• Submit the necessary document.

For those who were unregistered Sudanese born 30 to 40 years ago who do not have birth certificate:

• Together with a witness, visit the country's birth registry to obtain a document certifying that there is no record of the birth in the registry's database.
• After obtaining the document, visit the Health Commission. They will then issue a substitute health document which contains the year/date of birth (usually the stated date is January 1 followed by the estimate year of birth) in lieu of birth certificate.

• Stamped document issued by "legal doctor assistance" in the rural villages or towns
