1.In order to be successful, exporters are advised to start the exportation process, traders should start by carrying out a market research. Market research involves gathering information about target customers / market in order to be able to identify and assess how changing elements of the marketing mix impacts customer behavior. At this stage though not a must, traders are encouraged to visit the target mark in order to be able to obtain the require information;
2.The trader then goes ahead to find out the procedure and requirements for importing into the market country. At this stage, the trader should obtain all the documents required in the import / market country;
3.Thereafter, the trader proceeds with preparation of export documents required in order to be able to export from Sudan. At this stage, the applicant must ensure that he / she obtains all the required documents from different authorities basing on the type of goods being exported; therefore the applicant must know the specific documents required for particular products;
4.When the trader has all the required documents, he / she proceeds with clearing goods at the customs authority. Clearing goods at the customs authority is as below:-
5.The exporter then goes ahead to with port and terminal handling. Here the exporter declares exports to the exit port authority by submitting all the necessary documents to the port authorities. When documents are received, the port authority examines, assesses documents and thereafter verifies exports against the submitted goods. When verified, the exporter should clear any prescribed fees, when fees are cleared, the port authority releases the goods;
6.Thereafter the exporter can then proceed with transportation of goods to the market country
