Sri Lanka - Obtain Certificate of Registration of Fishing Craft


Procedure

  1. To obtain a duplicate Certificate of Registration of Fishing Craft, applicants will need to go to the Office of the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources.
  2. Obtain an application form the Area Fisheries Inspector.
  3. Submit the completed form to the inspector and present your national identity card.
  4. Pay the application fee.
  5. The area Fisheries Inspector will review your application form and supporting documents and send them along with their recommendations to the district assistant director
  6. The assistant director will then send the relevant documents to the director general.
  7. It will be the director general who will decide whether to approve or deny your application
  8. The whole process will take around two weeks to be completed.

  • Written application stating the why a duplicate certificate is necessary
  • Special Cases: Fisher folk affected by the tsunami can apply for a duplicate without any support documents

Eligibility

In order to obtain a duplicate Certificate of Registration of fishing craft from the Department of Fisheries, applicants will be asked to provide a valid reason why they are applying for the procedure. Applicants will also be asked to provide supporting documents.


Special Cases: Fisher folk affected by the tsunami can apply for a duplicate without any support documents

  • Duplicate of the registration certificate: Rs.15.00
