- To Renewal of Grade 1-11 Instructors Rating, the applicant has to approach the CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the fee prescribed by the officer.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a renewal grade from the office.
- This entire process can be completed within 2 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- A copy of a valid South African pilot's license and medical certificate.
- A copy of instructor's rating certificate.
- Proof of completion of the necessary flight and ground instructions.
- Proof of completion of the required refresher training course.

- Any pilot who intends to renew the grading instructor rating is eligible to make this application.
Fees
- The applicant has to pay the fee prescribed by the officer.
Validity
- The validity is for 24 months.

Need for the Document
- In South Africa, a Grade 1-11 Instructor's Rating is a certification that allows a pilot to provide flight training to other pilots seeking to obtain or upgrade their pilot's license. The rating is issued by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and is valid for a period of 24 months.
