Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for renewing Registration of a Sterilising plant in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Registrar in the Department of Agriculture.

3. Visit the office and obtain an Application for renewing registration of a sterilising plant from the relevant department. Or click here to download: Link
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Complete the application form as required with relevant details. After completing, attach all the documents required with the completed form.
6. Submit the application form and attached documents to the Registrar at the office of Department. Pay the required fees as directed by the officials.
7. You can also send the application form and attached documents by post to the Postal address of the Registrar office of the Agricultural Department.
8. After payment of prescribed fees, the application form and required documents will be sent for verification and validation processes correspondingly.
9. Then, the authorities will perform the necessary processes and proceed for the Registration renewal process if all the requirements have been fulfilled by the applicant.
10. The applicant will be notified prior to any process or formality that he/she should complete as a part of the application process.
11. Once all the processes have been completed properly, a renewed Registration document will be issued with prior intimation.

• Any person, who possesses a Sterilising plant Registration already and wants to renew it, can apply.
• The sterilising plant that needs to get registered must belong to South Africa.
• The sterilising plant for which renewal is applied must comply with the requirements of the Sterilising plant regulation in terms of hygiene and other aspects.
• The sterilising plant must have sufficient space for storage and processing animal products (that are free from pathogenic organisms).

• Before applying for a renewal, the applicant must contact the provincial department of agriculture and seek assistance in finding a state veterinary official in his/her area.

• Then, the applicant must request the official to perform an inspection in his/her sterilising plant in order to obtain a veterinary inspection report.

• If you are about to submit your application and pay your application fee in person, you must make sure you get a receipt of payment.

It is mandatory that you renew your Registration of a Sterilising plant every three years by completing a relevant application process as prescribed by the Department of Agriculture.
