Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain pregnancy test service, the applicant must either go to the nearest clinic or to the professional medical practitioner in South Africa Hospital list link and Hospital list link
2. The patient/applicant must fill the “Patient Form” given at the clinic.
3. The pregnancy is tested by either taking blood test or urine test. The respective tests will be taken with the patient’s concern.
4. After taking the test, the medical practitioner will confirm the result about the pregnancy test.
5. If the patient took the Blood test, it will take few hours or a day to show the pregnancy test results.
6. If the patient took the Urine test, then the result will be given immediately to the patient.
7. If the patient takes the pregnancy test service at the state-owned clinics or hospital, there is no charge for the service.
8. However, if the patient/applicant takes the pregnancy test service at any private hospital, then there will be a minimum charge.

NOTE: The patient/applicant can also take pregnancy test at home using the pregnancy test kit bought from the pharmacy.

• Any individual who suspects the pregnancy are eligible to take the pregnancy test service.

• There is no fee in state-owned clinic to take pregnancy test services.
• However, in the private hospitals/clinics, there will be a minimum charge to take the pregnancy test services.

• There is no validity duration for the pregnancy test services.

• If the patient/applicant feels or suspects these symptoms, then they can take the pregnancy test services to confirm the suspicions.
• Symptoms such as:
  • Missed period
  • Nausea
  • Breast Tenderness
  • Fatigue

• Name of the patient
• Age
• Marital status
• Father/Husband Name
• Address
• Contact Number
• Signature

• The pregnancy test results document helps in confirming the suspicions about the pregnancy.

• A pregnancy test is also performed when a rape case is reported
