Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Incentives under Bavumile, the applicant must go to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Office in South Africa. Contact Link
2. The applicant must submit a hand written proposal letter to the respective authorities in the DTI office.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. All the necessary documents must be submitted to Finance Assistant in the DTI office.
5. After verifying the documents completely, if the applicant qualifies the eligibility requirements set by the DTI board, then the incentives will be sanctioned to the applicant.
6. There are no fee or charges to file the incentive application.
7. The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

• The incentive fund under Bavumile is especially for the women. Therefore, the applicants (women) must be:
  • Involved in creative industries and clothing and textiles, with skills in embroidery, weaving, Knitting, sewing and beading.

• No fees or charges are levied for the processing or evaluation of the Incentive fund under Bavumile applications or claims.

• The validity period will be intimated to the applicant before sanctioning the fund to the applicant.

• After getting the approval from the DTI, the applicant (women) will receive incentives for the Provision of specialist skills training and assistance in establishing own enterprises and co-operatives.
• Also, provision of additional training in packaging, customer service, bookkeeping and establishing own businesses and co-operatives.

• The main objective of introducing the incentive under Bavumile was to ensure the quality production of commercially-viable crafts and products that promote South African culture and heritage, for local and international retail and consumption.
