South Africa - Enroll in Manufacturing Investment Programme (MIP)


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for enrolling in Manufacturing Investment Programme (MIP) in person, the person has to visit the office of Department of Trade, Industry and Corporation.
  2. The address and contact details of the DTIC can be found in the following link: Link Refer to the bottom of the page.
  3. Visit the office of DTIC and get the application form for enrolling in Manufacturing Investment Programme (MIP) as applicable to your requirement, from the relevant department.
  4. Complete the form as required with relevant details. Make sure that you have all the documents required for your specific application process. Refer “Required documents” section of this page.
  5. After completing the application form, attach all the documents required for the process with the completed form.
  6. Then, proceed to submit the package to the relevant authority at the office for further processes.
  7. After all the processes have got completed, the concerned authorities will proceed to make the arrangements for the incentive grant process.
  8. The applicant can obtain any information regarding the progress of his/her request, from the office where the application has been made.

Eligibility

  • Any local or foreign-owned manufacturer, who wishes to establish a new production facility, is eligible to apply.
  • Any local or foreign-owned manufacturer who wishes toexpand an existing production facility is also eligible to apply.
  • The manufacturer who wishes to upgrade an existing facility in the clothing and textiles sector can also apply.
