Apply Online:

1. To Apply for Security Transfer Tax, the applicant must go to the South African Revenue Services’ (SARS) e-Filing portal website. Online Link
2. On the given link, the applicant must register themselves by entering the necessary details asked on the webpage.
3. After registering, the applicant must “Log in” with the newly created “Username and Password”
4. If already registered in SARS, the applicant can directly “Login” using the Login credentials. Login Link
5. On the main web page, the applicant must select the “Services” option and then the “Other Services” on the left side menu.
6. Now, the applicant must select the “Manage Profiles” to set up the Security Transfer tax.
7. Then the applicant must select the “Create New Profile” and then must enter the “Company Name”, and then should proceed to save the details.
8. After saving the details, the applicant should select the “other services” option again, amd must select the “eSST and eStamps” option, and must select the “Register” option.
9. After registering the details, the applicant can access the returns to be paid for the Security Transfer Tax on the e-Filing portal.
10. There is no fee for applying for the Security Transfer Tax on the e-Filing portal.
11. The Security Transfer Tax can be applied and accessed immediately on the e-Filing portal.

Note: At any instance, if the applicant couldn’t access the e-filing portal, they can approach the nearest SARS Excise Branch office, and the issue will be solved/assisted for the applicant. Contacts and Address Link

• Securities transfer tax registration is applicable to a close corporation or company incorporated, established or formed inside and outside South Africa.

• There is no fee for applying for the Security Transfer Tax on the e-Filing portal.

• The Security Transfer Tax must be filed within 30 days of the date of that transfer.
