1. To apply for a Mining Permit online, the applicant has to visit the following link: Link
2. If you already have an account, enter Username and Password in respective fields and click “Login” button. Otherwise, click “Create new login” button.
3. Complete all the sections in the Registration page with relevant details and click “Submit” button. After successful registration, click “here” button in next page to continue.
4. Now you will be redirected to the login page, login using your Email ID and password and click “Login” button. In the homepage, click on “New Application - Annexure F” option under “Mining Permit” tab.
5. Before you proceed with your application, please go through the information that is listed in the first page in order to make sure you understand the process you will follow for your application.
6. After that, select the check box and the click “I Accept” button to proceed. In step 1, enter all your general information and details of commodities as applicable and click “Next” button.
7. In the next step, select the check box and click “Next” button to proceed. Likewise, complete all the steps by entering the required information and clicking “Next” button.
8. Also upload the required documents by following the on-screen instructions and proceed further.
9. Once completed, submit the application by clicking the applicable button and complete the submission process. Make the payment as directed in the application module.
10. If the system accepts the application, you will be notified and prompted about the further tasks to be accomplished.

• Any person, who wants to conduct or perform mining operations in a particular land or area, can apply.
• The area in which mining is going to be performed must not exceed 1.5 hectares to get approved.

You can approach the authorities for fees details or the amount of fees that you should pay will be prompted during application lodging process.

The Mining permit shall be issued for a Maximum period of 2 years.

• Any South African who wants to perform mining operations, must apply for and obtain a mining permit from the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE).

• Mining permits are aimed at controlling prospecting and mining, having regard to considerations for health and safety, environmental management and the responsible extraction of minerals.
