Apply In Person:

1. To Apply for the Certificate of Origin, the applicant must go to the South African Chamber of Commerce office in South Africa. Contact Link
2. The applicant must go to the office, and give a written request letter to request for the “Certificate of Origin” to the officials.
3. The details of the “Origin Certificate” must also be added on the request letter.
4. After the verification, the officials of SACCI will issue the “Certificate of Origin” to the applicant.
5. There is no fee for applying for the “Certificate of Origin”.
6. The processing time to get the Origin Certificate will take 1-2 days at the SACCI office.

Apply Online:

1. To Apply for the Certificate of Origin, the applicant must go to the Certificate of Origin‘s Online Portal called “essCert”. Online Portal
2. There are 6 portals for online application, therefore the applicant must select any one of the nearest Chamber of Commerce location portal on the given link.

   • East Rand
   • Johannesburg
   • Nelson Mandela
   • Zululand
3. The applicant must register on the given link by entering all the necessary details, and the must select the “Register” option.
4. After submitting the registration form, the “essCert” will send the “Formal Undertaking” details.
5. Finally, the applicant needs to submit the details of the registration along with the “CIPC Company Registration Form” to the register@esscert.com mail address.
6. There is no fee for applying for the “Certificate of Origin”.
7. The Certificate of Origin will be generated and sent to the applicant immediately after the registration process.
