Need for the Document

[edit]

  • Singapore is a small country with approximately 720 square kilometres of land. As they have competing land use needs, food farms occupy about 1% of our total land use.
  • The officials need to ensure that the space set aside for farming is used productively and sustainably, especially as they have set ourselves the “30 by 30” target - to build the capability and capacity of their local agri-food industry to produce 30% of their nutritional needs locally and sustainably by 2030.
