Singapore - Get Swimming Pool Licence or Permit

Apply Online

  1. To obtain a Swimming pool License the applicant has to make the application in GoBusiness licensing portal link
  2. Enter a search “Aquatic Facility Licence” then click on "Add to selection"> click on "Review and Apply" and then click the "Proceed" button.
  3. The applicant can also search by clicking the “Government Agencies” and selecting “National Environment Agency” NEA and choosing the appropriate service.
  4. The applicant has to log in with their Singpass Id number and password
    Note: If the applicant does not have an account, they can register by clicking on register for singpass, and read the information marked 1 and 2 and agree to the terms and conditions, and click on register now, and in the next page the applicant has to enter their personal information and submit. Then they will be issued the Sing Pass ID number and password.
  5. The applicant has to necessary information and submits the required document that is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. After submitting the documents review the application and click submit.
  7. After the successful submission, the authority sends out a letter reply to the applicant within 5 working days of receipt of the application. If the application is incomplete, the applicant will be informed to furnish the pending documents/information within 2 weeks.
  8. After successful submission of Book pre-licensing inspection, Make an appointment for inspection to Licensing & Environmental Assessment Department (contact link of the office given in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
  9. The authorized officer will inspect the swimming pool Upon full compliance to licensing requirements and submission of required documents, the authority will approve the application. You will receive a notification via email and GoBusiness within 3 working days.
  10. The applicant has to make a payment of $200.00 via credit or debit card.
  11. The National environment agency will post the hardcopy licenses within 7 working days upon successful payment.

  • BCA Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) and/or Approval for Addition and Alteration Work
  • Planning approval from relevant agency for change of use and/or addition and alteration work (if applicable)
  • Sectional plan of each Aquatic Facility
  • Water Quality Management Plan
  • BCA approved building plan where the aquatic facility is located
  • Aquatic Facility format for each Aquatic Facility
  • Schematic diagram of Aquatic Facility
  • Pumps and filters catalog
  • Latest bacteriological and chemical water sampling results

Eligibility

  • Only the following can apply for a license:
    • Singaporean or Permanent Resident for an individual
    • Company registered with ACRA (Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority). Application by a company not registered with ACRA cannot be accepted as it is not recognized as a properly constituted company. The sole proprietor or the active partner should apply for an aquatic facility license in his name.
    • Association/ Society registered with Registrar of Societies
    • Management Corporation Strata Title (MCST)
  • The license will be issued to the developer until such time the MCST is properly constituted.
  • A clear and scaled layout plan of the premises showing the details of sanitary, drainage, and washing facilities, etc.
  • For self-employed persons, please ensure that your Medisave contributions are paid up before applying for a license.

  • The fee to obtain a supermarket license is S$200.00

  • The validity of the license is one year.
