The process for applying for a business license differs according to the type of business the applicant is planning to put up but the process is usually like the following:

1. Complete and submit an application form. All application forms are available at the licensing office and online (see 'Documents to Use' section)
2. Your application will be reviewed and you will need to wait for your application to be approved by the CEO or Deputy CEO. If the business license activity requires one or more premises, there is a process of inspection of premise by inspectors and relevant consulting agencies such as the Planning Authority, Public Health Department, Seychelles Tourism Board, Fire Safety & Rescue Agency, Department of Environment, Department of Information Communication Technology and Landscape & Waste Management Agency. The inspection report will indicate if there are no defects or risks with the premise, which will determine if you application will be approved or not.
3. Pay all applicable fees.
4. It will take about a maximum of 14 days for your application to be processed.

Business License Procedure for Foreigners

1. Submit application to Seychelles Investment Board (SIB) and wait for approval.
2. Once approved, applicant will then lodge new application to Seychelles Licensing Authority (SLA)
3. SLA will verify your application, supporting documents and inputs the information in the system.
4. Your application will be processed and be submitted for inspection.
5. SLA inspectors and consulting agency compiles inspection report and submit for approval
6. Your application will be reviewed and you will need to wait for your application to be approved by the CEO or Deputy CEO.
7. Debit note is raised and applicant makes payment of license.
8. Issuance of license.

• Business License for sole traders: applicant must have a valid National Identity Number (NIN)
• Business License for a registered company or business: valid Business Registration Number (BRN)
