Senegal - Exchange a Foreign License


Procedure

  1. Submit an application to convert your foreign license into a Senegalese driving license.
  2. Pay the application fee.
  3. It may take a week to process your application.
  4. Once the application is approved, a Senegalese driving license will be issued to the applicant.


For lost or stolen driving permits

Report the incident to the police or the gendarmerie, to obtain a certificate of loss. You will need the certificate of loss to obtain a copy of the driving permit.

Exchanging your foreign license

  • The foreign driving license of the applicant
  • A certificate of residence
  • Three passport photos
  • Statement or certificate of authenticity issued by the issuing country
  • Proof of payment of the application fee
  • A certified copy of the identity card
  • A medical certificate issued by the health centre officials


For lost or stolen driving permits:

  • A certificate of loss
  • Two passport photos
  • A stamp whose value depends on the category of vehicle for which the permit is valid
  • Photocopy of the identification
  • A medical certificate if the period of validity has expired

  • Nationals of countries that accepts reciprocity (countries that allows a holder of Senegalese license to convert their license)




Fees

  • For professional licenses: 5,000 FCFA
  • For permits under light categories: 10,000 FCFA
