1. To apply for naturalization, go to the Department of Civil Affairs and the Seal of Senegal.
2. Write a request to the Minister of Justice and submit it along all other required documents.
3. It will take about a year for your application to be processed. Once your request to be a Senegalese national is approved, a naturalization decree will be issued.
4. The application process is free, however applicant shall pay the Treasury of Chancery dues amounting to 100,000 FCFA after signing the naturalization decree.

  • Copy of the marriage certificate
  • Certificate of Nationality of the spouse or partner
  • Birth Certificate of the spouse or partner
• For applicants with children: Extract from the register of birth for each child

• A certificate of residence issued by the prefect of residence
• An inspection certificate and cons-visit
• A certificate of good conduct
• A certificate of taxation or non taxation issued by the Head of Centre Tax Services

• has been residing in Senegal for 10 years
• has been residing in Senegal for 5 years and had married a Senegalese national
• has been residing in Senegal for 5 years notwithstanding
