1. To apply for divorce, one of the spouses or both in the case of divorce by mutual consent, may initiate divorce proceedings. Applicants must apply to the judge of the District Court in the place of residence of the wife. 2. Applicants will need to submit the following documents:
   1. A written request
   2. A copy of the marriage certificate
   3. The birth certificate of the children, if there is
3. Pay the application fee.
4. Your application will be reviewed by authorities. The amount of time it takes before a divorce judgment is issued depends on the complexity of the case.

Note: In case you have lost your divorce certificate, you will need to go to the Registrar of the Court which gave the judgment.

• a contentious divorce
