- To Apply for Working Tax Credit, the applicant has to make the application online via link
- The applicant has to click the “Start” button.
- The applicant has to check all the details and click the “Continue” button.
- Create a user ID and password with the following details and click the “Continue” button.
- Followed by the applicant has to select “Credit” from the following list.
- Now enter all the details in the application form.
- Also, upload all the necessary documents which are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- There is no fee for Working Tax Credit.
- After completing all the details, the applicant has to click the “Submit & Save” button.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The applicant may be invited to attend a telephone interview with a tax credits advisor. This will be an opportunity for you to provide additional information and answer any questions about your application.
- For further details, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
- This entire process can be completed within five weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Eligibility
To be eligible for Working Tax Credit in Scotland, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Be aged 16 or over
- Be working
- Low income
- Have a National Insurance number
- Live in the UK
