Saint Kitts and Nevis - Obtain Birth Certificate


Procedure

  1. You can go to the Registrar's Office and search and request for copies of a birth certificate. Make sure that you bring a valid identification in case the registry officer will need to verify your identity.
  2. When you submit your request at the Registry Office make sure that you have provided these important details which will make searching for the record easier:
    1. Correct name (as given at the time of birth)
    2. Date of birth
    3. Parents' name
  3. Pay for the certificate.
  4. You will be informed by the Registrar when the certificate will be ready.


If you are outside St. Kitts & Nevis

  1. Copies of certificates may be obtained by sending a signed letter of request to the Deputy Registrar General.
  2. If possible, the person whose name appears on the certificate should be the one to sign the letter of request. Where this is not possible, the applicant should enclose documented proof of entitlement to request the certificate.
  3. The signature of the person who is applying for the certificate should be witnessed by a notary public, solicitor, counsellor, Justice of the Peace, etc.
  4. Enclose a Postal Order or Bank Draft issued in favour of the Registrar General in the amount of 5.00. The amount covers the cost of the certificate and postage.
  5. Make sure that you have included this important information in your request:
    1. Correct name (as given at the time of birth)
    2. Date of birth
    3. Parents' name
    4. Full address to which you would like the certificate to be mailed.
