Qatar - Request Medical Examination for Travelling Abroad


Procedure

  • People who wish to undergo a medical examination to travel outside Qatar shall visit the Medical Commission with all the required documents.
  • For you to have a medical examination the first step is to book an appointment online or in-person to undergo an examination at the Medical Commission.

Apply In-Person

  1. In Qatar, the Medical Commission is responsible for holding medical examinations with the aim of protecting the health of Qatar population and preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
  2. People who wish to travel outside Qatar can be required to undergo a medical examination to obtain a health certificate so as to gain entry into the host country. The service is provided to ensure that the applicant is free from any infectious diseases that may conflict with the travel/entry requirements.
  3. The medical examination is done by visiting the Medical Commission, located on Al Muntazah Street, off the E-Ring Road. The medical commission is the authority responsible for conducting the medical examination. The contact details of the Medical Commission can be found through the following link
  4. Once you visit the facility, inform the registration officer of your intention of travelling outside Qatar.
  5. Present the required document as applicable to the commission’s officials. These documents include.
    • The original Qatari ID, Passport or President Permit.
    • Letter by the authority requesting medical examination.
    • Recent personal photo
    • Mobile number to be contacted, if necessary
  6. You will be issued with a Medical Fitness Certificate Form to fill and submit. This form can also be downloaded from the Ministry of Public Health website through the following link. : link
  7. The commission’s office will go through your documents and you will be asked to make the payment for the medical test.
    • A fee of QR 50 is charged for the medical examinations.
    • A Debit/Credit Card is used for payment. Cash payment is not allowed.
  8. After payment of the fees you will be summoned to take the medical examination.
    • The medical examination may include Blood Test, Chest X-Ray, Screening for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C. (the tests are mentioned in the medical fitness certificate form).
  9. The results take a period of one to two weeks to come through.
    • The Medical fitness certificate shall be sent to the requesting authority (in the host country) through the department’s mail.

Eligibility

  • People wishing to travel outside Qatar are eligible to make this application for medical examination.
  • An authority from the foreign state should write a letter requesting the medical examination.

Fees

  • A fee of QR 50 is paid for the medical test.
  • Debit/Credit Card is necessary for payment. Cash payment is not allowed.

  • Medical fitness certificate shall be sent to the requesting authority through the department’s mail.
  • Qataris and GCC nationals shall be registered at the Primary Health Care centres each to the health centre to which they are referred in accordance with the procedures applicable in these centres.
