Qatar - Registration of Food Consignments to Complete Inspection Procedures


Procedure

This service is provided by the Food Safety Department, which allows food importers/clearance companies to carry out food consignment registration service to complete inspection procedures.

Apply In-Person

  1. An applicant for food consignment registration to complete inspection procedures has to make an application in person to the Food Safety Department, of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). This can be done by visiting the Health office of the relevant at the relevant Port i.e. (Hamad Port, Hamad International Airport, Abu Samra, Ruwais Port) to make the application. The contact details of the mentioned ports can be found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page.
  2. Here you will be given a Food inspection Registration and Inspection form to fill and submit. The form can also be obtained by clicking on the “E-service” button from the following MOPH Website page and filled beforehand.
  3. Fill in the required information correctly and submit the form.
  4. Once done, an e-payment link will be sent via text message to your phone or e-mail address.
  5. Click on click on the link and follow the steps for online payment.
    • Payment is done via credit card or debit card.
  6. Upon successful completion of the payment process, you will receive a text message or email confirming the success of the transaction and containing the payment receipt.
    • Print the payment receipt.
  7. Submit the receipt along with the consignment documents at the concerned port official to process the issuance of the certificate.
  8. The required documents are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  9. Once the documents are submitted the Ministry of Public Health inspectors will carry out the registration and inspection of the foodstuff to determine if the prescribed safety standards are met or not.
  10. Once the inspection and documentation is complete, and everything is in order, the Ministry of Public Health inspectors will issue the required certificate.
