1. The Ministry of the Interior (MoI) reduces the time of communication and simplifies the procedures for reporting cyber-crimes to the public by launching Metrash2 in light of the precautionary measures against COVID-19

Step 1: Download the Metrash2 app on your Mobile Device.

1. Go to the App store (iPhone users) or Play Store (Android Users) and search for Metrash2. Then “Download” and open the APP.

Step 2: Select Your Preferred Language

1. By default the app opens in Arabic, select your preferred language from the bottom right button. The App is translatable in the following languages (Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Malayalam, and Urdu).

Step 3: Enter your Qatar ID Number and Expiry Data

1. On the next screen, enter your Qatar ID number and press “Next” then enter the expiry date of your Qatar ID.
2. A pop-up message will be displayed asking “Are you sure your phone number is under your Qatar ID?” Select “Yes” to proceed.
3. The Matrash2 APP will generate an automatic SMS message to be sent to 92992. Simply click “SEND” and wait for the activation code

Step 4: Enter the Activation Code and set a PIN code.

1. Open the APP again and enter your QID and both activation codes you got from the SMS.
2. Select a numeric PIN code for the APP (For security purposes, the PIN (Password) has to be at least 6 digits). Reconfirm the PIN and click on “Submit”.

Step 5: Log in to the Metrash2 App.

1. Upon receiving the confirmation SMS and starting using the APP, by logging in with your password, first-time users one has to accept the terms and Conditions. Click on “Accept”.

Step 6: File the Cyber Crime Complaint.

1. Select “Communicate with us” then “Criminal Complaint (Security Department)”, then “Security Department” then “compliant type”.
2. Specify the location and write a brief of the complaint then attach a signed written copy of the complaint. (This is compulsory) and then Send the complaint.
3. The security department will contact the complainant

Report by Telephone or Email

1. To report a cyber-crime in Qatar, contact the MOI's Cyber Crime Investigation Centre either by telephone or email on:

2. Where the complaint is submitted by email the following should be considered;
   • A written brief about the offense
   • A copy of the suspected email as received by the original receiver (forwarded emails should be avoided)
   • The complete header of the suspected email
   • Hard and soft copies of the alleged email and its header
   • Ensure that the soft copy is provided in a CD-R

• A written and signed copy of the complaint

• Phishing - Phishing is a way to extract confidential information from account holders in banks or financial institutional using illegal methods.
• Cyber-bullying / online harassment - Cyberbullying refers to the use of online services to bully or harass a person with the intent to affect them socially, psychologically or even physically. Examples of this behavior include sending abusive or threatening texts and emails, online stalking, or sending inappropriate images and videos, etc.

• The validity period is until the complaint is solved.
