• Individuals, companies and governmental entities can reactivate online the residence permits of persons who have entered the country with visa numbers and had previous residence permits (personal numbers) through the online portal of the Ministry of Interior (MOI).
• The visa of the person whose residence needs to be activated must be valid, and the person has to be inside the country.

Apply Online

1. To make an application to reactivate a residence permits of persons who have entered the country with visa and had a previous residence permit, the visitor needs to first get a medical examination for reactivation of a residency permit and have his/her fingerprints taken.

   • Several medical tests must be conducted, including a blood test, fingerprinting, health check and a chest X-ray. To get more information on medical test check the procedure “ Qatar- Request Medical Examination for Residence Permit” on the Wikiprocedure website
   • The current entry visa and the old RP must be linked together using the person’s fingerprint earlier registered in the system.

2. In the next step, “the recruiter” (Individuals, companies and governmental entities )can log in with their smart / establishment card to the e-services portal of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) by clicking on the MOI Services tab and selection the E-services option.
3. If you do not have an account with the MOI e-portal, you have to register for the services using your smart card.
4. Once logged in, click on "Residency Services” on the dashboard then click on the “Issue/Reactivate RP by Visa Number” link.
5. Enter the visa number of the person whose residence is to be activated, then click on "Next".
6. Enter the person's data, the click on "Next".
7. Select the delivery method for the new residence permit.

   • In the case of personal transactions, the user will determine the method of receiving the new residence permit (either by personally going to the Expatriates Affairs Department or via Qatar Post).
   • In case of enterprise transactions, the new residence permit will be delivered by Qatar Post

8. Click on "Pay Fees", and pay the applicable fees using a debit or credit card.

   • The user will pay using the credit card in the case of personal transactions. In the case of enterprise transactions, payment can be made either by credit card or bank transfer (from account to account). The delivery fees (if any) must be paid.

9. After successful payment, a receipt will be shown to the applicant. Print the acknowledgement receipt for reference.
10. You will be notified through SMS when the reactivation has been approved.
11. Once approved, your new /reactivated Residence Card will be delivered to your preferred location through the postal service or you can pick it up from the Expatriates Affairs Department offices on the same day.

• The service is available for Qataris, residents, companies and organizations holding smart QID Cards to make an application to reactivate residence permit of persons who have entered the country with visa and had a previous residence permit.

• A fee of QR 230 is charged for the residence permit reactivation,
• An extra QR20 in case of selecting Qatar Post for delivery.

• The residence permit validity will be one year or three years depending on the validity period of residency.

• This service enables you to reactivate a residence permits of persons who have entered the country with visa and had a previous residence permit.

• This service is available for both individuals and establishments.
• The applicants have to log in with the smart card, and they must be registered with Metrash.
• The medical examination and the fingerprint must be completed (the current visa and the previous PIN will be checked through the person's fingerprint).
