Apply In-Person

1. To apply of permission for a mortgaged vehicle transfer, you should visit the Ministry of Interior, department of General Directorate of Traffic you can view the contact details of the General Directorate of Traffic through this link: Link
2. Collect the required documents and visit the Ministry of Interior (MOI) service centre in your location to obtain the application form from the customer service desk or download it directly form the link provided in the “Documents to use” section below and fill it correctly
3. Go to the traffic department to submit the complete application alongside the required documents including the approval form the mortgage company for ownership transfer
4. Obtain a token number and wait for your turn, once called approach the service desk and submit the application for verification
5. The customer service officer will validate your application and then request you to pay the application fee
6. Pay the transfer fee and obtain the payment receipt
7. Then the officer will update the data in their system and transfer the vehicle to the mortgage company and issue a signed receipt of the transfer
   

Apply Online

1. Visit the Ministry of Interior (MOI) website: Link and select E-services to login with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI.
2. Once logged in click on "Traffic Services" option then click on "Traffic Certificates" option.
3. Select "Vehicle Ownership Transfer" in the Certificate Specification and Click on "Next" button.
4. Enter the vehicle plate number and the new owner information and then choose the license delivery option i.e. Personally or by a Mail courier.
5. Pay the appropriate fees using the online platform and submit the application
6. You will then receive a notification in your email acknowledging the submission of the application

• GCC citizens form Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman Saudi Arabia and UAE should attend to sign and show their IDs, while residents, not working in government institutions, should provide a letter from the sponsor.
