This service is provided by Ports' Health and Food Control Section, where importers and exporters of food and customs clearance companies apply for issuing health food certificates, by taking the following steps:
Apply In-Person

1. The applicant for the health food certificates (foodstuff certificate) have to make an application in person to the Ports' Health and Food Control Section, of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). This can be done by visiting the Ports' Health and Food Control Section offices to make the application.
2. Here you will be given a Request for Foodstuff Certificate to fill and submit. The form can also be obtained from the MOPH Websiteand filled beforehand. In the MOPH Website scroll to the “Departments” tap and scroll to the “Health Affairs” opiton. Here click on the “Food Safety” link. This will take you to the food safety department page. Here navigate to the bottom of the page and click on Issue Food Health Certificate link proceed to the application page.

   • Here click on the “E-Services” button to proceed to the application form..

3. Fill in the required information correctly and submit the form.

   • Make sure you tick “Health Food Certificate”.

4. Once done, an e-payment link will be sent via text message to your phone or e-mail address.
5. Click on click on the link and follow the steps for online payment.

   • Payment is done via credit card or debit card.

6. Upon successful completion of the payment process, you will receive a text message or email confirming the success of the transaction and containing the payment receipt.

   • Print the payment receipt.

7. Submit the receipt along with the consignment documents at the concerned port to complete the issuance of the health certificate.
8. The required documents are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
9. Once the documents are submitted the Ministry of Public Health inspectors will carry out inspections of the foodstuff to determine if the prescribed safety standards are met.
10. Once the inspections are complete and everything is on order, Ministry of Public Health inspectors will issue the required certificate.
