• This service is aimed at legalizing medical documents to be used abroad and inside the State of Qatar, and this includes:

1. Medical certificates issued by hospitals and medical centres under the supervision of the Supreme Council of Health.
2. Medical certificates issued abroad and authenticated by supreme health entities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Qatari mission in the country of origin or the mission of the country of origin that is accredited by the State of Qatar.
3. Educational certificates, whether they are university, professional or medical ones, which are issued abroad and authenticated by entities to which the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its branches is affiliated.

Application made inside Qatar

1. One needs have his or her medical documents legalized so as to be used abroad or inside the State of Qatar. Individuals who wish to obtain this service in Qatar should visit either:

   • The Legalization Section at the Administration Building of the Consular Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.
   • OR
   • Governmental Services Centers in Musaimeer, Alwakra,Um Selal, Alzubara on two shifts as follows:

   (i) Morning shift from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm.

   (i)Evening shift from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm (Except Alzubara).

2. Submit the documents requiring authentication to the Legalization Section for legalization/authentication.
3. Present the required document as applicable to the commission’s officials. These documents include.

   • Original identification documents of the owner of the certificates to be authenticated.
   • Translations of the medical documents (if applicable)

4. The officials will go through your documents and you will be asked to make the payment for the authentication.

   • A fee of QR20 applies for authenticating each medical certificate or medical report.
   • A Debit/Credit Card is used for payment. Cash payment is not allowed.

5. After payment of the fees, the authentication processes will begin.
6. If everything is in order, the documents will be authenticated immediately and issued back to you.

Applications Outside of Qatar
Apply In-Person

1. One needs have his or medical documents legalized to be used abroad and inside the State of Qatar. Qataris abroad who wish to obtain this service should visit the Diplomatic and consular missions of the State under the supervision of the Consular Affairs Department.
2. Here, submit the documents requiring authentication to the Legalization Section for legalization /authentication.
3. Present the required document as applicable to the commission’s officials. These documents include.

   • Original identification documents of the owner of the certificates to be authenticated.
   • Translations of the medical documents (if applicable)

4. The officials will go through your documents and you will be asked to make the payment for the authentication.

   • A fee of QR20 applies for authenticating each medical certificate or medical report.
   • A Debit/Credit Card is used for payment. Cash payment is not allowed.

5. After payment of the fees, the authentication processes will begin.
6. If everything is in order, the documents will be authenticated immediately and issued back to you.

• Medical certificates and reports need to be authenticated and legalized so as to be used abroad and inside the State of Qatar.

• Medical certificates issued by hospitals and medical centres under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education shall have a series of authentications, ending with a seal and signature approved by the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its branches.
• Medical certificates issued abroad and authenticated by supreme health entities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall include a series of authentications, ending with the seal of the Qatari mission in the country of origin or the mission of the country of origin that is accredited by the State of Qatar.
• The Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or any of its accredited branches authenticates the seal or signature of Qatar Chamber or the seal and signature of an accredited ministry or an organization accredited by the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• The document requiring authentication shall have a number of live seals and signatures ending with a seal and signature accredited by the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• The government entities in the State of Qatar shall be deemed competent to authenticate the documents they issue and the (certified) copies of such documents.
• Qatar Chamber shall authenticate the seals and signatures of some translation offices.
• When authenticating a document whose seals and signatures or pre-authentication content are later proven to be invalid, the authentication of the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or one of its branches is deemed void, and the Department has the right to refer the issue to the competent security entities in the State of Qatar.
• The Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its branches are not responsible for the content of the document, yet they abstain from authenticating any document that violates the applicable regulations in the State of Qatar.
• A transaction is reviewed and the legalization procedures are completed within a period ranging from one to five minutes, depending on the number of transactions, in the cases where the transaction is valid and complete with all the required signatures and seals. However, in case the transaction lacks any signatures or seals, the customer is requested to complete the requirements and come back to do the authentication.
