• Applicant shall submit a request to the Consular Affairs Department to authenticate your civil documents.
• This service is aimed at legalizing civil documents to be used abroad and inside the State of Qatar. Such documents include:

1. Letters issued by government and private entities and pertaining to employees, whether Qatari citizens or residents, contracting with such entities.
2. Letters issued by agencies under the supervision of government entities and departments for the citizens and residents.
3. Letters issued by the diplomatic missions authenticated by the State of Qatar.
4. Letters issued by the citizens themselves and authenticated by the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Judiciary Council or the Ministry of Interior.
5. Letters of introduction, clearance and no-objection to residents, issued by their respective companies or agencies that are members of Qatar Chamber, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs or the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
6. Employment contracts concluded with residents, partnership contracts and all that is related to companies as well as papers related to employees of companies and institutions.

Apply In-Person

1. To authenticate civil documents, applicant has to visit the consular affairs department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office.

3. Applicant has to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and obtain the application form from the respective officer.
4. Now complete the form with necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the required documents section below with the completed application form.
6. Pay the appropriate fees and submit the application form to the respective officer in the legalization section at the administration building of the consular affairs department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
7. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
8. After verification process, the applicant will be later requested to collect the authenticated civil documents on a specified date.

• The Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or any of its accredited branches authenticates the seal or signature of Qatar Chamber or the seal and signature of an accredited ministry or an organization accredited by the Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• The Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its branches are not responsible for the content of the document, yet they abstain from authenticating any document that violates the applicable regulations in the State of Qatar.
