Apply Online

1. One can apply for a Seamen Transit Visa online through the Ministry of Interior e-portal. The first step is to log in with your smartcard to the e-services portal of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) by clicking on the MOI Services tab and selection the E-services option.
2. If you do not have an account with the MOI e-portal, you have to register for the services using your smart card.
3. Once logged in, click on "Visa Services” menu on the dashboard then click on the “Seamen Transit” link.
4. On the next page, fill out the required information, such as name, birth date and place, passport details, phone number and address
5. Enter your email address if you want to receive a soft copy of the visa application receipt.
6. After this, pay the required due fees using a debit or credit card.
7. After successful payment, a receipt will be shown to the applicant. Print the acknowledgement receipt for reference. A copy will be sent to your email address
8. After payment of the fees the application will be processed and if approved and a copy of the Seamen Transit will be issued to the applicant immediately.

Note:

• Carry a copy of the approved visa and bring it with you when you travel, as it should be presented prior to check-in and upon arrival in Qatar.

Apply In-Person

1. You can make an application for the Seamen Transit visa in person by visiting the General Directorate of Passport offices of the Ministry of Interior in Abu Samra Port - Border Crossing station.
2. Here you are to submit an official letter from the maritime agency which you work for {maritime transportation company or offshore oil fields company}.
3. The letter should request for the Issuance of the Seamen transit visa.
4. Attach the required documents to the application. These documents include the following:-

   • Copy of the Establishment ID card of the company applying for the visa.
   • Original maritime passport of the seaman.

5. Proceed to make the payment of the transit visa using a debit card or credit card.

   • A fee of QR100 is charged when making an application through the General Directorate of Passport department.

6. After payment of the fees the application will be processed and if approved and a copy of the Seamen Transit will be issued to the applicant.
