• One can only apply for a Student/Educational Resident Permit when they have arrived in Qatar. Thus, one needs to apply for a Student Visa first, and then apply for a Student/Educational Residence Permit
• Expatriate students may submit a request to the Committee Reviewing Recruitment Applications at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to approve the issuance of an educational residence visa to study in Qatar.

Apply In-Person

1. The Expatriate students can apply for the Student/Educational Resident Permit by submitting an application to the Committee Reviewing Recruitment Applications of the Ministry of Interior (MOI).
2. This can be done by visiting the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriate Affairs offices or the MOI Unified Services Centers in person to make the application.
3. Here you be issued with an application form for educational /student resident permit to fill and submit.
4. Fill in the required information and attach the required documents to the application form before submission. These documents include.

   • Letter recommendation from an accredited educational authority in the country
   • An Admission Letter clarifying your purpose of the stay
   • Good conduct certificate, certified by the concerned authorities
   • Proof of pass the required medical examination outside the country, as per the mechanism outlined by the concerned authorities.
   • Passport copy
   • Student visa copy

5. Submit the application forms and required documents to the concerned official.
6. Department’s officials will go through your application and if everything is in order they will begin processing the Educational Residence Permit.

   • All the required condition should be met before submitting the application form.
   • The department will not be responsible for any delay resulting from failure to meet these conditions.

7. The application process may take a period of two to four weeks before the residence permit is issued.
8. Once ready the applicant will be notified to visit the offices to be issued with the residency permit.
