Apply In-Person:

1. In Nova Scotia, the applicant will receive a renewal notice to renew a driver’s license. The applicant will need to visit the nearest Prince Edward Island Service centre, and here is the link to finding the nearest office Link.
2. Fill in the application form, enter all relevant details.
3. Carry all relevant documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The applicant will need to carry their old Driver’s license.
5. The applicant will have to pay fees, find fee-related information under the “Fees” section of this page.
6. The applicant will be issued a temporary license that is valid for 60 days, the applicant shall get their permanent license within 30 days that they can collect from the PEI centre or will be mailed.

1. To renew a license online, the applicant will have to visit the official Prince Edward Island website, use the following Link
2. The applicant will be prompted to answer a few questions regarding their license.
3. Click on “Continue”.
4. The applicant will need to enter personal information such as their name and DL number.
5. After entering all information, click on “Continue”.
6. The applicant may be asked to upload original copies of documents.
7. Click on “Submit”.
8. The applicant will be issued a temporary license that is valid for 60 days, the applicant shall get their permanent license within 30 days that they can collect from the PEI centre or will be mailed.

A driver’s license is valid for a period of 5 years after which it needs to be renewed.
