1. To Renew National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance, the applicant has to use the following link
2. When the page loads, the Data Privacy Content pop-up will appear, click the “I AGREE” button to proceed.
3. Another pop-up will appear containing the latest advisories from the NBI. Simply click the “CLOSE” button to move on with your application.
4. If the applicant has been issued an NBI clearance from the year 2014 to the present, and it is the first time applying online, the applicant will need to register on the website first.
5. complete the registration form and click the “PROCEED” button.
6. If the applicant has requested an NBI clearance before online, the applicant may proceed with the renewal process by logging in to his/her account. Enter the email address password and then click the “SIGN IN” button.
7. Click the “Application” button on the menu, and the applicant will see the profile, under ‘Application Type’ it shows a ‘RENEW’ status. In this case, click the “APPLY FOR CLEARANCE” button.
8. On the pop-up, indicate the type of valid ID, the applicant will be presenting for the procedure. The applicant will also need to provide the ID number. Once you are done, click the “I Agree” button.
9. A reminder about the importance of the reference number will appear and click the “Close” button.
10. Next, they will be asked to set up your appointment. First, select an NBI Branch where you would like to renew your clearance. Use the drop-down menu for this action.
11. After choosing a branch, you will then need to select a date and time for your application.
12. You will see on the right side of the page, a summary of your schedule, payment details, and the deadline for the payment.
13. To complete your transaction you will need to pay for the clearance before the deadline. And when you pay, you will be asked to indicate the reference number of your transaction on the payment form. To view your reference number, click “Transactions” on the menu (it's on the left side of the page). Your transaction status will be labeled ‘Paid’ once your payment has been cleared by the system.
14. Now for the second part of the application process, you will need to show up at your chosen NBI Clearance issuing branch on the date of your appointment. Do not forget to bring a valid ID (the one you provided on your application) and your reference number written on a piece of paper.
15. NBI will take a photo of you, scan your fingerprints and save a digital copy of your signature.
16. If your application resulted in 'No Hit' that means you have no criminal record.
17. You may now proceed to the printing area and collect your NBI Clearance. For those who got a ‘With Hit’ result, you will need to come back as advised by the clerk. Take note of the date and keep your receipt, you will need it when you collect your clearance.

Note: Getting a 'With Hit' result doesn't mean you have a criminal record, this happens sometimes especially if you have a fairly common name or there's another person with the same name as yours. NBI just needs additional time to confirm your details.
