1. Go to the Marriage License Bureau, either at the Clerk of the Orhpans' Court or Register of Wills.
2. Present and submit documents required.
3. Complete the application form.
4. Pay the marriage license fee.

• photo ID or driver's license
• visa (for foreigners)
• social security numbers
• a certified copy of the divorce decree (for divorced applicants)
• death certificate of spouse (if widowed)

Note: Foreign divorces require a certified English translation.

• Applicants must be 18 years old to apply for a marriage license.
• Applicants between 16-18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to provide written consent to the marriage. *Applicants under 16 years of age must have both the written approval of a judge of the Orphans' Court Division of the Common Pleas and a parent or legal guardian given written consent.

The fees for a marriage license varies by county and is required at the time of application.
Note: The typical fee is between $60 and $65.

The marriage license is valid for 30 days during which time the marriage must be solemnized and the completed marriage license returned to the county register of wills.

• Marriage license must be applied for a minimum of three business days and/or up to a maximum of 60 days prior to the marriage ceremony.
• Both applicants must appear in person when applying for a marriage license.
