Apply In-Person:
- To renew a driver’s license, the applicant will need to visit the nearest Driver’s Test centre or Service Ontario Bay and college and find the nearest drivers test centre office here Link. - Make sure to carry the old driver’s license.
- Carry all relevant documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Fill in the application form, enter all relevant details.
- The applicant will have to pay fees.
- The applicant shall receive their new driver’s license by registered post within 4 to 6 weeks from the submission of the application.
Apply Online
- To apply for license renewal online, visit the Service Ontario website, use the following Link.
- On the top right side of the page, click on “Order Now”.
- Enter details such as driver’s license number, Trillium number postal code and so on.
- Click on the “Add to my order” icon after entering all details.
- The applicant will have to make a fee payment.
- Enter card details and make the payment, save the receipt for future reference.
- The applicant shall receive their license through the registered post within 4 to 6 weeks from the submission of the application.

- Expired driver’s license or driver’s license number
- 7 digit trillium number found on the driver’s license
- ID proof such as:
- Passport
- Military ID
- Health card
- Proof of Alberta residency
- Fee receipt
- Application form

Eligibility
- The applicant must have a full licence (G, M class) that isn’t cancelled or suspended.
- The applicant hasn’t updated his/her address within the last 90 days.
- The applicant doesn’t need tests.
- The applicant has no new medical conditions that may prevent him/her from driving.
- The applicant should not have any outstanding fines or penalties.
- The applicant is a resident of Ontario.
Fees
The applicant will need to pay 90$ for a 5 year license.
Validity
A driver’s license is valid for a period of 5 years after which it needs to be renewed.

If the applicant is older than 70 years of age, he/she will need to show a medical clearance certificate.
