• A Character Certificate is an official document issued by the respective department authorities which states whether a person has any previous convictions recorded against him/her.
  

Apply In-Person :

1. Applicant must apply in prescribed application form along with required documents to the respective Police station.

5. Submit the completed application along with required documents.
6. Authorities after checking the attached documents and application submitted will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
7. This application will be processed internally. Respective authorities will do the ground level verification in the residing area of the applicant followed by scrutiny of the documents and details provided by the applicant.
8. Once the verification is over, these officials will submit their report to the respective authority to decide and issue the Certificate to the applicant.
9. Applicant will get the certificate as per notified period after due verification.

2. In the given page, please complete the login prompts on the right part of the page under “citizen login” session by hitting “LOGIN” tab to reach next page.
   1. If you are a new user, use the “Register” session to register and then login.
3. Once login, Please select “character certificate request” tab from the provided list of services to reach next page.
4. Kindly follow the page requirements for filling online application form. Please upload the required documents as prompted.
5. After completing the sessions for personal information, address and affidavit, please hit submit to submit the application online.
6. User will get page for payment, please select/fill the prompted details and hit “proceed” to get next page to submit online challan.
7. once all the requirements are over, hit the right tab to get acknowledgement.
8. Please keep the acknowledgement for future reference.
9. This application will be processed by the respective department as per how it will be processed in person.
10. Applicant will get notification about the status on his registered mobile number provided while applying.
11. Applicant has to go and meet the respective authorities with documents as instructed to get the certificate as per given date.

Apply Through CSC

1. To Obtain a Character Certificate, the applicant has to approach respective “CSC” centre link
   • NOTE: The applicant has to select state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
3. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
4. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
5. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
6. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will decide on the issuance of the information.
11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.
