To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.
Apply In-Person through Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme,visit the B.D.Os/E.Os or District social security office.

3. Download the application form through the following link : Application form or get it from the Office of the Block Development Officer or Executive Officer of the Municipality/NAC concerned.
4. Fill the application form with all the necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned B.D.Os/E.Os.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. The Sub-Collector sanctions pension in favour of the beneficiaries on the recommendation of the B.D.Os.The eligible applications are being sanctioned on first come first serve basis from the waiting list.
9.  If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.

Note :  The pension is being disbursed to the beneficiaries in shape of Cash at G.P head quarters on a fixed date i.e 15th of each month i.e on the Jana Seva Divas after due identification by the PRI members.

• Death Certificate of Husband
• BPL Status Certificate (verifiable through Ration card)
• Aadhaar Card
•  Any of the following documents, namely:
  • Voters’ ID Card issued by Election Commission of India

  • Bank Passbook with Photo (Kisan Photo Passbook also valid)
  • PAN Card issued by Income Tax Department
  • Passport
