Apply by Mail

1. To apply for a Tobacco Collector Agreement, the applicant will need to enter into a collectors agreement and obtain a wholesale dealers permit from the Minister. Here is the contact Link
2. The applicant will need to submit a tobacco wholesaler license application, this will be given to the applicant by the authorities.
3. To obtain a form, contact the government of Nunavut, find contact information under the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.
4. Once the applicant obtains the application form they will need to fill out the application forms with all the relevant details.
5. The fee for this procedure will be intimated by the respective authority
6. Submit the application form by mailing it to the address mentioned under the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.
7. Once the application has been signed and approved, the applicant shall receive their license by mail.

• The applicant must be 19 years of age or above.
• The applicant must sell, offer or sell tobacco for resale.
• When a person obtains a wholesaler license, they are appointed as a tobacco tax collector.

• The applicant may need to pay a bond deposit, this will be intimated by the authorities.

• The Tobacco Collector Agreement needs to be renewed, the expiry date will be mentioned in the license.

• Licensed importers and wholesalers are appointed as tobacco tax collectors, and are required to report and remit the tobacco tax on products imported into Alberta on a monthly basis, even if the return is nil.
