Always state your hunter number in addition to your name and address when you contact the Register of Hunters.
To be registered as a license hunter you must;
Individuals residing outside Norway do not need to take the big game shooting test in Norway if they have fulfilled the requirements for hunting big game in their country of residence. Proof of this must be carried while hunting.
For the current hunting season the hunting license fee is NOK 333. If you would also like to hunt moose, red deer and wild reindeer, there is an additional fee of NOK 89, for a total of NOK 422.
If you have not paid the hunting license fee for the last five years you will be deleted off the Norwegian Register of Hunters.
If you want to hunt again, you must send a new documentation of your hunting license to the Norwegian Register of Hunters.

Hunting license applicants will need to pass the Hunting Proficiency Test (Jegerprve).
If you permanently live abroad and would like to hunt in Norway, you do not need to pass the hunters test or shooting qualification test if you satisfy the licensing requirements for similar hunting in your country of residence. If you are intending to hunt in Norway, you must send your foreign hunting license and your name, date of birth and postal address to the Norwegian Register of Hunters.
