Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for replacing your existing driver license in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

3. Before proceeding to make an application, the applicant will have to obtain a statement from the police describing the loss, damage or defacement.
4. This should be produced in the court and sworn an affidavit stating the fact of the loss, damage or defacement.
5. Visit the office and obtain an application form for replacing the existing license (MVA form) from the relevant department.
6. Complete the application form with required details and information under respective sections.
7. Attest it with your signature and attach all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
8. Proceed to submit the application form and attached documents to the relevant official at the office.
9. Please pay the prescribed fees along with the submission of application as directed by the officials.
10. You will be issued with an acknowledgement slip for the application you have made and a payment receipt as a proof of payment.
11. Also, you will have to complete a short written test and if you are successful, you will be directed to the FRSC Information Processing Centre (IPC) for biometric data capturing process.
12. Once your replacement is completely ready for issuance after all the internal verifications, you will get prior intimation after which you can visit the office and collect the license card.

Note that if you intend to apply for Commercial Licence Classes, kindly visit a Drivers Licence Centre (DLC) close to you.

1. To apply for replacing your existing driver license online, the applicant must visit the following link: Link
2. Click the link given above and in the page that opens, click “Apply Now” button under ‘Reissue’ tab. A dialogue with a note will appear, click “I understand, let me continue” to continue.
3. Application retrieval page will open, click the radio button as your wish, enter the code and click “Search” button. Online application form will get opened with relevant tabs.
4. Complete all the tabs by filling the required details and click “Next” button. Provide the details asked for as applicable, upload the required documents.
5. After filling the form, click Submit to submit the form. An acknowledgement slip will be generated which you have to print by clicking the applicable button.
6. Pay the necessary amount of fees through any method online by following the on-screen instructions.
7. Also, make a hard copy of the payment receipt. Return to the homepage and click “Track DL Application Status”, enter the Application ID to view and print the application form.
8. You will have to visit the office of FRSC to submit the documents and to complete a short written test.
9. If you are successful, you will be directed to the FRSC Information Processing Centre (IPC) for biometric data capturing process.
10. Once your replacement is completely ready for issuance after all the internal verifications, you will get prior intimation after which you can visit the office and collect the license card.
