1. To find your lost Tax Identification Number (TIN) online, the applicant has to visit the following verification link: Apply Online
2. Visit the link and a search form will be opened in which you should make the search.
3. In the search form, click “Select Search Criteria” drop down, and three various options will be present in that list.
4. Click “RC/BN” option or “TIN” option or “Phone” option in the list. Then, enter the corresponding value in the next field.
5. Click “Search” button and the applicant’s taxpayer details along with Tax Identification Number will be displayed.

• The applicants will have to complete the same procedure which they did for obtaining the TIN initially, to reclaim the lost TIN, with an additional form for stating the reason of reclaim.
• Individuals are automatically assigned with a TIN based on their BVN (Bank Verification Number) or NIN (National Identity Number). To get a TIN as an individual, you need to have a NIN or BVN.
• Non Individuals such as (Limited Liability Companies, Incorporated Trustees, Enterprises, Cooperative Society, MDAs, Trade Association etc) can register for their TIN online.
• To verify TIN, search using your Bank Verification Number or Registered Phone Number and your Date of Birth in the following online verification link

Tax Identification Number is unique number that specifies an individual or business entity while paying their liable taxes. So if the taxpayer lost his/her TIN, he/she must find it.
