Nigeria - Apply for Weighting Scale Verification Certification


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Weighing Scale Verification Certification in person, the applicant has to visit the Weights & Measures Departmentof the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
  2. The address and contact details can be found in the following contact link
  3. Visit the office and obtain the application form for Weighing Scale Verification Certification from the relevant department.
  4. Make sure that you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form as required with appropriate details and information. Attest the application form with your signature.
  6. Attach the documents with the completed application form.
  7. Submit the application form and attached documents to the relevant authority at the office. Pay the applicable fees as directed by the officials.
  8. After submission, technical officers will inspect the object to be certified and submit report to the Certification authorities.
  9. The reports including results of analysis are assessed and recommendations made to the Director General of FMITI for approval.
  10. Upon approval of the Director, the applicant is informed regarding the approval through phone or email and asked to collect the Certificate through any applicable means.
