- To Replace (Lost, Stolen, Damaged) Vehicle Registration, the applicant has to contact the New Zealand Transport Agency 0800 108 809
- The applicant has to contact the office for replacement.
- Inform the details about the reason for the replacement.
- Also, the officer will ask some question about registration.
- For further process, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of $9.10.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Once the application is processed and approved, the applicant will receive his/her replacement vehicle registration. This may be mailed to his/her address or provided to him/her in person, depending on the method he/she chooses.
- Attach the replacement registration labels to the applicant’s vehicle as directed. Make sure the labels are displayed clearly and are easily visible to law enforcement.
- This entire process can be completed within 10 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
