1. To Replace (Lost, Stolen, Damaged) Vehicle Registration, the applicant has to contact the New Zealand Transport Agency 0800 108 809
2. The applicant has to contact the office for replacement.
3. Inform the details about the reason for the replacement.
4. Also, the officer will ask some question about registration.
5. For further process, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
6. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
7. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
8. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
9. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
10. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of $9.10.
12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
13. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
14. Then the application will be processed further.
15. Once the application is processed and approved, the applicant will receive his/her replacement vehicle registration. This may be mailed to his/her address or provided to him/her in person, depending on the method he/she chooses.
16. Attach the replacement registration labels to the applicant’s vehicle as directed. Make sure the labels are displayed clearly and are easily visible to law enforcement.
17. This entire process can be completed within 10 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
