New Licenses

• Food fish licenses are issued under limited entry qualifications.
• If you wish to apply for a license you will need to get in touch with the Marine Permit Office - Bureau of Marine Resources (contact info below).

Renewing your license

• If you possessed a food fish license in the previous year, you are eligible to obtain a license in the current year.
• A renewal form will be sent to you before your current license expires. If you haven't received your renewal form in the mail and your license will expire in at least 2 weeks, you will need to contact the Marine Permit Office (contact info below).

List down the documents required for successfully completing the procedure.

You must be at least 16 years old

• Residents: $250
• Non-residents: $1,250

Food fishing licenses are valid until December 31 of each year. A person who possessed a food fish license in the previous year will be eligible to be issued a license in the current year.

Currently, issuance of food fishing license is limited to renewing applicants and qualified new entrants (within license limits set in law).

The Food Fishing License permits its holder to take and land food fish harvested from state waters and to land food fish taken from waters outside the state for commercial purposes.
