1. Go to the City or Town Clerk's office.
2. Present required documents.
3. Complete an application form.
4. Pay the marriage license fee.

• Proof of age (driver's license, passport, certified birth certificate)
• Photo identification (driver's license or passport)
• Certified copy of a death certificate of a former spouse, if either applicant is widowed
• Certified copy of a final divorce decree, if either applicant is divorced
• Certified copy of a civil annulment decree, if the applicant's previous marriage was annulled (court document)

• Female applicants ages between 13 and 17 and male applicants ages 14 and 17 can only be married with a waiver and permission from their parent or legal guardian.
• Non-residents under the age of 18 may not marry in New Hampshire.

Marriage license fee: between $45 and $60

The marriage license is valid for 90 days from the date of filing.

• After the ceremony, your officiant must complete the license and return it to the town the license was applied after which you may obtain a copy of the marriage certificate by visiting the town clerk or city hall.
