New Brunswick - Apply for Grazing Leases (GRL)

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Grazing Leases (GRL) in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Crown Lands.
  2. Address and Contact details of the office can be found in the following Contact link
  3. The applicant has to visit the office and obtain an Application for Grazing Lease (GRL) from the respective department.
  4. While visiting the office, the applicants should carry the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to complete the application with required details in the respective fields under each section and submit it to the relevant official with the required documents.
  6. The applicant has to pay the non-refundable Assignment fees of $3150 (no GST) for the approval of lease, as cheque, money order or any other available payment modes.
  7. Then, the submitted application and the attached documents will be assessed and verified.
  8. Upon completion of the assessment and verification, the applicant will be intimated through phone or email to collect the approved Grazing Lease (GRL).

Eligibility

  • Any person in New Brunswick, who wishes to use public land for grazing of livestock, can apply.
  • The applicant must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant 19 years of age or older.
  • The applicant must be engaged in the operation of the farm or ranch.




Fees

  • The applicant has to pay the non-refundable Assignment fees of $3150 (no GST) for the approval of lease, as cheque, money order or any other available payment modes.




Validity

  • Grazing Leases are issued for a maximum of 20 years.

  • The applicants should complete the application form with all the mandatory details provided with absolute legibility.
  • The applicants are advised to attach all the required documents without any insufficiency, to avoid rejections and delay in processing.
