New Brunswick - Apply for Federal Crown Land


Procedure

Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for Federal Crown Land, the applicant has to approach the Canada Land Company Limited link
  2. Once the application is completed with the training and insurance process, the applicant has to visit the office.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  8. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. As part of the application process, the applicant will likely need to undergo a criminal history check.
  11. If the application is approved, the applicant will need to sign a lease or permit agreement, which will outline the terms and conditions of your use of the land.
  12. This entire process can be completed within 15 – 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Eligibility

An eligible person:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to apply for Crown Land.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must not be bankrupt or insolvent.
  • Must not have any criminal convictions that could affect your ability to manage or use the Crown Land.
  • Must have a clear purpose for using the Crown Land and be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to manage the land.
  • Must be able to comply with any relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to the management and use of Crown Land.




Fees

  • The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.




Validity

  • The validity of the license is two to three years
