Apply via Agent
Apply In-Person:
- To apply Income Support for Workers in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Social Development.
- The address and contact details of the Social Development Regional offices can be found in the following contact link
- Visit the link and click on the applicable link to find the address of the regional office nearest to your location.
- First, the applicant has to call the provincial number for screening and intakes at 1-833-SDDSTel (1-833-733-7835).
- You will be asked some questions to determine if you may be eligible to receive Income Assistance.
- If you are eligible for Income Assistance, an appointment will be scheduled for you to complete the application package and provide required documentation to the department.
- Make sure that you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Visit the office of Social Development on the scheduled date and complete an application for Income Assistance.
- Follow the instructions of the official over there in completing the form and fill in the form with required details.
- Submit the application form and other required documents to the relevant authority at the office.
- After submission, the official in-charge will provide you with instructions regarding the further processes to be done.
- When all the necessary processes are over, the applicant will be sent a notification through registered mobile number or email address regarding the application approval.
- Within a stipulated period of time, the applicant will start receiving his/her income assistance, with respect to the application request.

Eligibility
- The applicant must live in New Brunswick and he/she must be in financial need.
- Any person will be eligible for the Income Assistance if the total household income is less than the rate for your family type.
